Dismayed at the unending Syrian crisis, I dedicated this work to all the human blood poured on the sacrificial altar of power.

In writing this work I was inspired by the convoluted seduction scene of Shakespeare's Richard III, in which Gloucester and Lady Anne seek what they may offer to and receive from one another: power, social status, and protection. Both characters unveil their raw needs – ‘naked masks.’
